Launching WFG

Aegon purchases core assets that enable it to establish WFG.

Tim Stonehocker, a financial services industry veteran, serves as WFG’s first CEO, and implements a strong foundation of regulatory compliance, integrity, and respect.

WFG’s affiliate broker-dealer was established, empowering securities-licensed WFG business owners to provide additional products and services to families.

Advancing in Canada

Rick Williams moved  from his position as vice president of national sales for Transamerica Life of Canada and became president of WFG’s Canadian operations, which now includes World Financial Group Insurance Agency of Canada Inc. and WFG Securities  Inc.

Transforming Strategically

WFG becomes part of Transamerica, a well-known financial services company whose history of helping families to secure their future extends back more than 100 years.

2010

Creating a Future-Ready Digital Platform

WFG launches Compass, our proprietary technology infrastructure that manages agent commission payments and billing.

2012-13

Ready for the Next Era of Success

WFG rebrands the company with a contemporary look and voice. It also embraces a Mobile-First approach to designing systems that enables associates to run their businesses securely while on the go.

2016

Leaving No Family Behind

WFG launched the Financial Momentum Campaign at the annual convention. The campaign's goal was for WFG associates to help 150,000 families in 90 days. An ad in the January 2017 issue of Fortune magazine celebrated the top 500 who helped the most families.

2017

Making the Industry Attractive to Entrepreneurs

WFG paid more than $738 million in commissions to the field, which translates to over 400,000 families helped.
